1. THE BASE:

The base stores all the parts below the machine and stands as a pillar for the whole machine. It houses the trunnions, arbour assembly, and sometimes the motor, depending on the type of the table saw. It has legs that stand on the ground and supports the whole machine.

2.THE TABLE AND EXTENSIONS:

PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING A TABLE SAW:

Safety is the most important thing to consider when using a table saw, as one accident can stand heavy for your whole life. Always remember, when using a table saw, neglecting the precautions can inflict a lot of personal damage, not only on you, but also on the machine. Some of the following precautions when using a table saw can help you stay cautious from most of the problems often foreseen:

1. Do NOT wear gloves! They will not protect your hand, but loose ones will instead give more room for the rotating blade to grab your hand.

2. Wear short sleeves and don’t wear ties or jewellery. Always remember, any dangling cloth can be stuck in the blade, and can yank you in before you can even react.

3.Keep the floor clean, because the last thing you want is you accidentally tripping and falling on the blade.

4. Make sure the blade has stopped before making any adjustments, as even a slowly moving blade can inflict a vast amount of damage.

5. Use a stick to guide the wood if it is smaller than 6 inches. If smaller,your hand will be closer and more exposed to the blade. Watch out and keep a safe distance of 6 inches or higher from the cutter.
